Darkest Dungeon is a challenging game by design, and that is something I can certainly appreciate, but I always felt like there needed to be some rewards for players that managed to achieve greatness, only to die shortly after. The new content is definitely welcome, but I must admit I am most excited about the permanent buildings we can unlock. The Crimson Court will bring with it a new hero class, a new wandering boss, a new dungeon region with a full faction of new foes to square off against, a bunch of new bosses and ginormous maps to mess around with, and even permanent additions for your estate. As such, I am very glad to say that the developers have just announced that The Crimson Court, Darkest Dungeon's very first expansion, is set to arrive on June 19th at a rather low $10 price tag. The Flagellant has his perks but, in this context, his most important aspect is the Endure skill with which he can pull the Stress of the party onto himself, then have the Jester remove it.Darkest Dungeon is a great game, but even with mods included there is only so many times you can replay the same types of dungeons before you're simply done. He can dispose of enemies quickly, buff allies, and remove Stress with Inspiring Tune. The Jester walks the tightrope between support and damage-dealer with unrivaled finesse. The aforementioned Jester and Flagellant make for a dynamic duo that can easily carry the rest through this plight. RELATED: Turn-based Games Like Darkest Dungeon Add to that constant Bloodsucker encounters and that's a level of anxiety neither Poe nor Lovecraft could ever dream of inciting in a human person. Out of context, it seems negligible however these dungeons are capacious. In the Courtyard, an additional point of Stress is added to a random party member with every room. A player who has spent any length of time with the game will know that keeping stress levels low is just as paramount to survival as keeping health high.
